Default Question about 2" lift

Maybe a dumb question, but I'm not mechanical. Will installing a 2" OME coil lift interfere with the auto sway bar disconnect on 2010 Rubicom unlimited? The kit is simple. 4 shocks, 4 coils and a panhard ext bracket. ??? It says nothing about the sway bar.
Thanks,
Bobb

It's recommended to get longer sway bar links to keep both bars parallel to the ground. I went up 2.5", bought rubicon express extended rear links for the rear, then moved the factory rear links to the front. ($30)

Which OME coils?
The HD's that are very popular on here will give close to 3.5" on a 4door, up to 4" on a 2door. (3.25" on my 4door with heavy bumper/winch). The OME 2" lifts are not 2" lifts...

Anyway, there have been quite a few threads/pics of what can happen when you flex with short front links. (one post was pics of it happening on the lift at his local shop...)
- The sway bar can flip around backward, turning the links into pretzels and damaging whatever other components they happen to contact.
Links are cheap. Grab a set of longer rear links and move the stock rears up front!!

As far as the lift goes, decide how much actual lift you want, then find coils to match. If you go up over 3", you'll want to consider front adjustable control arms also. (I'd suggest browsing the FAQ's, specifically the "what components do I need for a 3" lift" one. And the "what is caster, how much do I need" one.

The kit came with 618's and 619's coils.

Yep, that's the HD's. Expect 3.25-3.5" up front.

Consider adding front extended bumpstops when you install the coils, and some brakeline extension brackets or extended lines would be a good call.

See how it drives after install. If there is too much flightyness/bumpsteer for you, look into the front ca's.

Quick question....I have a 3.25" kit that comes with a set of quick disconnect. Since I have a rubi....I can use them in the rear and move the rear regular links to front? No reason the rear can't be a quick disco and not normal links?

It won't interfere with it, but you should definintely have longer links to keep the sway bar as close to parallel as possible when sitting static. I believe someone has already stated in another thread that stock should be about 5 degrees higher than parallel. If you don't replace the links you'll be limiting articulation via the sway bar.

This may not always be a bad thing, at a certain point too much articulation can cause springs to drop out of place and the stock drive shafts to hit the tranny pan on automatics. There are kit designs that handle for this, but if you aren't getting replacement links I'm guessing you won't have those parts either.
