Default Question about offset & backspace

comparing wheel specs..

I am replacing the stock pizza-cutter wheels with 15x10's with a 33x12.5 DuraTrac. I was looking at a wheel with a 4" BS and -38 offset and the look was perfect. From others who have used that wheel the fit was dead on. Sadly, that wheel is currently on unobtainium status... inter-gallactic back order. So I need to change gears.

One of the wheels I am looking at as an alternative is also 15x10, but is a 3.5" BS and a -38 offset.

Am I correct that the smaller BS of 3.5" will move the wheel 0.5" farther out?

Correct. Lower BS moves the wheel/tire further out of the wheel well. Higher BS moves it further in.

I too an trying wrap my head around backspacing and offset . From what (i think) i know), if both wheels are 10" and they have different backspacing wouldn't the offset be different as well?

To me, backspacing is much easier to understand and visualize.
