Default Question about wheel spacers?

I am running a Skyjacker 2"BB with stock wheels and tires(Rubicon Wheels & Tires). I have seen some threads about having to use wheel spacers. I am not and haven't noticed any problems. Should I be concerned with just the 2" BB????

you only need spacers if you are planning to run wider tires on your stock wheels. they will give you less backspacing and help you to clear things like your rear swaybar links.

why? so long as you get high quality ones that bolt onto your axle first and then your wheels to it, how is it any different than running a wheel with less backspacing?

I guess high quality is the key word here. I have broke some in the past on my old CJ. Once you do that, its hard to wrap your mind around that scenario again. Again, my opinion.

what broke? over the years, i have run wheel spacers on and off on all my jeeps and still run a set of spidertrax now on my orange JK and have yet to have one break. so long as they are installed properly and checked periodically, i can't see how one could break.

On mine, after I installed the 2.5" Teraflex coil lift, I had problems with the rear sway bar link bolt rubbing the inside lip of the WHEEL and I had stock tires with no spacers.

let me guess, you were running the new longer links, right? and, the problem you had was most significant on the driver side, right?

Actually, this was with the stock front links moved to the rear and the passenger side was rubbing the worst.
