Default Question for the experienced off-roaders

Is there any safety concerns with using coil spring spacers(budget lifts)? It seems like the coil spring lifts aren't too much more than the equivilent spacer lifts. I would like a mild lift, but do not want to get something that can potentially cause problems if I start tackling more difficult terrain. Thanks for your help.

I dont think it will be a problem with basic trails but if you plan to do some rock crawling or something than maybe save up and invest in a better lift.

Nope, tons of people on this forum has been running spacers lift offroad with no problems. If you plan to add aftermarket bumpers etc. then I would look into getting a coil lift because the stock coils will begin to sag with the added weight.

You will be fine with spaces and wheeling it. You actually get awesome articulation with a BB. You do not have to get extended bup stop as previous poster has stated.

BTW, have been wheeling my BB hard for 2 years now with no problems. Details in sig.

Same spot at planman with a Teraflex 3" lift with coils and shocks.

Thanks for all of the feedback. It's nice to know that so many people are willing to help a newbie like me. I have been very impressed by all of the knowledge and creativity people on this board are willing to share. I have been kind of hanging out in the shadows waiting for something I could contribute or ask that wouldn't come across as annoying.

In regards to my question, you guys have helped a lot. Not knowing much about this type of lift, I was envisioning disconnecting my swaybar>going over some rocks>and watching my suspension flex so much that the spring would fly out because it was sitting on a spacer. Now that I know so many guys have run this set-up(especially taking it to Moab), I feel a lot more comfortable saving some money on the lift and putting some money towards a Superchip.

Thanks again for all the feedback. I will try to get more involved with the discussions in the future.

Oh....if anyone is out in the Yucaipa/Redlands area, i would love to talk/meet to get to know more about this new hobby/lifestyle.

Cheers

Teraflex and I believe Rock Krawler now make coil spring budget boost kits. I'm probably going to go this route.
