I second sm_rubi on the RocDogFab plate holder. I just got one for mine since I have the hawse fairlead for my synthetic line, fits/works great.

I welded 2 pieces of L shape 1/8"x 1" steel on the winch hoop and it hangs just above the winch. Dont have pics but it looks good, can see it and its out of the way
