Default Question regarding new shocks

I recently came in to owning 4 brand new Rancho RS5000 Shocks. The model numbers are 5330 (rear) and 5329 (front). These shocks came with zero install manuals and the webs site says that they are for a vehilce with 4in of lift. My question is this...can they be installed on a vehicle with 0 lift? I know this may possibly get me flamed off the boards but i don't have alot of experiance with this kind of stuff. The shocks i'm use to are on cars and they are pretty cut and dry. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If they are for a 4in lift, they are too long, your springs will fall out when your articulate, rip brakelines and such too. And that is even if the shock body's themselves may not allow you to have much dampening because they may be longer aswell.
