Default Question regarding tire size and warranty

I have a 2008 Rubi, on the rubi I have a bumper to bumper life time warranty. I have already ordered some basic things but regarding tires I have a question. If I set up my jeep to say run 35s and I have axle or transmission problems can they blame this on the larger tire size? I plan to go with a 1 inch body lift and 1.5 in suspension spacers with lower bump stops. Could they justify this if so I may just stay with 33s. I don’t see how 1 inch could void the warranty. Thank you for all you help.

Yes and no. If you were to say snap an axle shaft then no they wouldnt cover it. If your tranny were to go out then it most likely would be covered. They can only deny the warranty on the defective part if they can prove that your modifications caused the failure. So lift away, but be realistic when you are going in for warranty coverage. I have found that if you find a good dealer and work with them they will return the favor and work with you.

It all depends on the servicing dealer. I just took mine in today and they replaced the L.F. u-joint and front drive shaft under warranty. The u-joint had cracks in the plastic seals and the drive shaft had a torn boot. I also am running a 3" suspension lift with 35's. There is nothing written in any warranty paperwork that I've ever read that states altering the vehicle voids the warranty and if your dealer says otherwise ask for it in writing from Chrysler or should I say from Fiat.

They have to PROVE the mod broke the Jeep.
