Default Question for those with Hemi swaps...

I'm thinking of going the 5.7 route. If i go with the AEV kit, it is too loud for DDing? I drive without doors and top down a lot in the summer so how are the sound levels without the doors/windows?
Also, although the V8 sound is pretty bad ass initially but can it get TOO much after in the long run?
I have a 2 door so i'm guessing that it would sound louder than in a 4 door setup as well.

Appreciate the feedback...

I don't have a Hemi, but your exhaust and muffler is going to dictitate how loud your jeep will be. Best bet is to hunt around for a system you like the sound of and go with that.
You can also add sound deadening material to the floor of your jeep. Lizard skin makes a paint on sound deadening material you apply to the floor of the jeep. They also have a heat blocking application. They can be used together if you think that's what you're gonna need.

The exhaust kit that comes with most kits is pretty mild.

It really depends on how you drive as well. I have the 5.7 VVT and if I stay out of the throttle it is pretty quiet, but if your a heavy footed driver it is much louder.

can you live with the increased noise in the long run?
the 3.8 is pretty quiet and so obviously I've got used to that. I've had loud ass v8 in the past, I just don't know if it will become unbereable after the thrill wears off.
I also have a dog that I put in the back (rear seat out) and so I don't want him to go deaf.

Anyone ride around with a dog in their Hemi? how do they handle it?

I have the exhaust dropping under the Jeep due to my suspension and it still doesn't seem loud to me unless I am heavy on the throttle. Freeway speeds are fine. My wife and I can talk normal just like we did when the 3.8 was in there. I have the AEV kit in mine and it was very quiet with the original exhaust system that came with the kit. As for the dog, can't help as we don't have a dog. Sorry. If your thinking about going with the v8 conversion I would say do it you won't be disappointed, but check into the LS conversion as well.
