Default Question on Upgrading tires

Have a stock suspension on my 2012 JK running stock 255-75R17s. Doing some quick calculations it looks like the stock setup gives me a little over 7 inches from the rear of the tire (not wheel) to the front of the hub (where I would start to measure backspace) I am looking at 285s on another set of 17" wheels. The new wheels have less backspace than the originals - a little over 2". Given the slightly wider tires will I have any rubbing issues putting what effectively will be 33x11.5's on when today I have 32x10s?

Thanks for any insight

You won't rub a long as you have back spacing of 4.5" or less.

And if you have ANY plans to lift I'd suggest waiting and then getting 35's. I ran 33's stock till I got my Rock Krawler lift and now I'm kicking myself for not holding out for 35's. I went witht the RK 2.5" and I have plenty of room for 35's. And you will read that time and again here. Just a heads up.

All - thanks for the input.

My YJ and TJ both ended up with lifts and larger tires so i know I will go there again but right now i have another project in my garage so I think I will wait a bit for the lift on this one. I do think the 35s look great though - a few JKs inn my neighborhood with them
