Ok thank you for the replies.

Well i got adventurous i went out and took it off took some pictures and then put it back on

NO ISSUES with the cross member and no issues with the bolts lining up after removal.

35 minutes to get it off,,,,, had to file a couple bolt edges so i could get socket on.
and 15 minutes to put it back on.

everything was fine must be mild steel and not "the new steel" there was no twist or spring to it.

SO i am a very happy jeeper.
now perhaps if they do it in there warm garage i cannot guarantee the same result for them but i know in the cold there is no issue.

Hey!

Just found something you may be interested in...

Maybe not since yours is not bent as bad as you thought...

Anyway in the Feb. FOUR WHEELER page 69 it shows the crossmember
for the 07 Jeep made by RUBICON EXPRESS it looks pretty good. The middle
section is removable, and it has some mounts incorporated in case you want
to go long arm later on...

Personally I would take it right to the dealer and tell them you, a regular old guy, managed to remove and replace the bent skid and cross member in 35 minutes. Show them the pictures, and point out the cheap tools, no hoist, and snow. I'd offer to give them .5 hours out of your pocket as a goodwill gesture and tell them to get on those TSBs. They are just trying to add to their pockets on low paying TSBs under warranty. They do deserve to get paid if there is extra time involved, they do not need fleece you to get it.

I'll be the first to say that they are being a bunch of whimps. I wouldn't agree to a new cross member at all. There is nothing wrong with the one you have. Its cheap, thin (for the application) steel. Who cares if it is bent up a bit? A competent roll bar shop could make you a beautiful one for $650 with a smile that would take a real beating.
