question...what causes this?
Why, on occasion, when I have to brake harder than normal, does my Jeep tend to pull the steering to one side?
I have a 3" lift, adj front track bar, and 35" tires. I have had this set up for about a year now. Everything seems fine and the alignment seems good. This isn't anything new, but because I don't brake that hard normally, I don't really think about it that often. Any thoughts?

generally when you start pulling to one side that, is a sign of break wear. basically one side of your jeep is clamping harder than the other side. and with those 35's you can easily wear out your brake pads quicker than normal. so i would highly suggest that you either check out the brakes yourself or even more highly suggest that you take it to a qualified brake shop and have them inspect them. most brake shops will look for free.
It pulls to the left when it does it. It only happens under hard braking conditions though. Any other time, I cannot feel it pulling. I was just curious. I guess I will go out and take the wheels off and check the pads.
--no, I did not replace my brakelines...I used the relocation/extension brackets.

Mine did it from day 1 , but I don't remember what side it pulled to. I imagine its a adjustment in the brake proportioning valve. I havent worried about it too much. My brakes are in good shape at 18,000 miles
Bleed your brakes. Check your pads. Check your air pressure. One of your front shocks might be softer than the other. Check your tread wear pattern and rotate your tires. TRY them all.... GOOD LUCK!!!!
Mine has pulled since day 1 also. It will go either way depending on the pavement. It seems that the jeep is sensitive to the slight imperfections in the road. Worse now that I have put larger tires on. Not a bad idea to do a good brake inspection though. They are a bad thing to have go missing when your at highway speeds and you need them. Better safe then sorry.
