Default Questions about shocks???

Ok I'm gettin a lift for my jeep and I see that most kits come without shocks. So I have a dumb question maybe. My buddy has some shocks left from his old 4 inch lift from His tj would those not work on my jk with a 2.5 inch lift? Let me know what you think any help will ne greatly appreciated!

They may fit but the valving wouldn't match your vehicle. For the best ride you need to get shocks that match your vehicle height and weight.

You won't get the right ride with shocks that are too big. Also, you won't be able to articulate as much with shocks that are too long because if the long shocks are too compressed under normal circumstances then when you go to stuff a wheel in your fender the shock will been completely compressed and you won't be able to articulate any further

I would just buy new shocks, they are pretty cheap. People seem to like Teraflex.
