Default Quick discos?

So on my other thread that was a argument that was never finished and I was still wondering what's the difference in the jks quicker discos and the cheap rancho quick discos and I guess I can add the teraflex in there too.

The TeraFlex/JKS discos come with a relocation bracket to store the disco up and away from the sway bar and greaseable zerks

The Rancho doesn't come with a relocation bracket and no greaseable zerks.

I believe that is the only difference. Sure someone will chime in as well if I'm wrong and/or forgot something.

a lot of the cheaper discos that come apart and use a cotter pin to put it back together are difficult to reassemble and can be noisy on the road. the TF and JKS discos are pretty similar in design and relatively easy to use but, the JKS are adjustable. i'm not fond of the storage pins some have as they tend to get in the way of a full stuff and turn and, when running big tires, can cause a sidewall blowout. in the end, a quick disco is pretty much a quick disco though and they all are prone to things like coming loose. i personally prefer to run bolt on links that require a wrench to remove.

See, WOL is the best at explaining in depth and with more insight/personal experience...haha... "ask and you shall receive!"

and WOL, now that I am thinking of it...when I bump up to 37's shortly, I hope I don't run into that issue you just brought up about the relocation pin for my TF discos.... I guess if they will hit/rub, I can just remove it and either do it the old way and just zip-tie them up or think of something else.

back when i was running TF discos, that's what i did. i just removed the storage pins and just strapped the links to the frame rails with a bungie cord. so long as they sit parallel to the frame, they will be out of the way.

Well, if it happened to you it's gonna be the same for me. I have 4.25" backspacing, but I don't think that has anything to do with allowing the tire to clear the pin, right? It's the tire height that's the issue...

combination of tire height and width. i see you're running 33's and, with the amount of back spacing you have, you could be fine.

Well, I know I am fine with my 33's... have been, that's not my concern. Just when I swap out the 33's for 37's around april/may then I will run into this issue. Thanks for the heads-up

oh, yeah, with 37's, it'll most likely be an issue even with 4.25" of back spacing. i was running toyo 37x13.50s and they near about tore off the storage pins. granted, they are a really wide tire but, i suspect the same would have happend with 12.50's too.

Pretty sure it's safe to say they will rub, if not, come close enough to cause concern on my end thus resulting in me removing the pin and just storing them up and away via a bungie cord or some home-made restraint. Thanks again.
