Default Quick questions

Hey y'all

So I finally traded in my truck on saturday for an '07 wrangler unlimited sahara 6spd that should be picking up tomorrow. I've been reading through a lot of the posts on this forum and have come to the conclusion that the best thing for me is to go with a 4" suspension, 1" body lift and 37" tires.

From all the posts I have read the 2" body lift kit seems like more trouble than it's worth and the 1" kits have all gotten great reviews but the one question I have is while there is a bunch of info about trimming the inner boot for the 6spd shifter there isn't much about the transfer case shifter... Is there absolutely nothing you have to do in order for it to be ok? There is no interference at all even with that inch? I had a 3" BL on my TJ and that was a huge pain in the ass to get it bolted back and working correctly and I don't want to go through that again. I know with the JK's it's not bolted to the body like the TJ thank God, i'm just worried about it not being able to move all the way front or back.

One other question, I really don't do any extreme off roading so I figured I'd save myself some money and get the Sahara with the dana 30 instead of goin all out for the rubicon and dana 44 up front, my question is when I go up to 37's would an aftermarket single or dual steering stabilizer be worth the money?? Ive seen a few posts on here that say aftermarket steering stabilizers are just a big waste of money and the stock one works fine. Having a single or dual makes sense in my head to help with the tires but if the stock one is completely fine then I don't see the need to upgrade it. Any opinions on this??

thanks

Yup, go with the dual. They do make a hell of a difference. 37's will be pushing that Dana 30 to its limits though, and with that kind of lift, you have to think about slip yokes and driveshafts.

As far as bl's are concerned, (IMO) they should be kept off every vehicle. Way more trouble then they are worth. They also have no real functionality and look terrible. Lots of 4" kit's will accomodate 37" tires by themselves.

congradulations on your new jk and to answer your question, no, you will not need to address the t-case shifter like you would have on an old tj.

honestly, if you have your suspension and steering dialed in, you DON'T even need a steering stabilizer. hell, i ran my JK on 5" of lift and 37's for months without one and without any problems. now, don't get me wrong, having one or even an upgraded dual setup is nice as it will help absorb bumpsteer and kickback but it really isn't needed and a factory SS will do the job just fine.
