Default Radius Arm and drop bracket vs upgraded control arm

Ive been looking at different manufactures suspension systems and see that some go with a radius arm and bracket set up (Rancho,Rubicon express)
I myself have a Tera Flex short arm control arms. Do both basically do the same for the front end geometry or is one better than the other.

As radius arm suspension cycles caster is dramatically changed. They have less moving parts and offer excellent articulation.

With the stock style 5 link setup caster change is minimal. They have more moving parts which would drive the cost up a bit. They also offer excellent articulation.

Both are excellent suspension designs.

Hope this helps!

Radius arm setups are more suited for desert dune running.. They will bind when articulating as say rock crawling due to there design. There are lots of threads discussing this.
All the load the upper arms carry are tied into the lower arms. It's not the best design. A true 4 link is better. Triangulated 4 link is the best for bind free flex. RK offers a 3 link for the front which will flex like crazy but I've been told the on road manners are not that great. I have no experience with the 3 link up front.
Hope this kinda helps.

Very true! Radius arms are better for even up and down travel rather than articulation.

Yeah I am at the point of replacing my front upper arms because I already have the other 6 replaced and with my recent increase of added lift. I am thing just probably get a matching front upper TeraFlex setup

A radius arm setup gives you the "best of both worlds" both off and on road.

A bracket system is an inexpensive way to give your JK that stance. It can handle so much more than I expect, honestly.

I see that usually a drop bracket is used with a radius arm and another manufacter uses just control arms.
