Default Rain/water proof when topless?

Was wondering if the bikini top/windjammer/duster combo is waterproof? I would love to take my soft top completely off in the summer but I would be worried when it rains. I have some electronic equipment in the back.

Does this combo work well for people? And do u like it? It looks like the seats might not go back all the way when it's installed, I'm fairly tall around 6'2"
Thanks for any input.

So what exactly is the point of them? Sun shade and dust, that's it!?

Yep, that's where they got the names from. It shades you from most of the sun, blocks most of the wind, and repels most of the dirt. But it is basically a screen mesh and water will find its way through. It might help minimally if you were driving on the interstate and it started to lightly rain, but it won't help any if you are parked or driving slowly. Maybe look into the trektop nx. It functions as both a soft top and bikini.

When I worked at a major Jeep parts retailer, one of the web design guys had a 2007 JK without a hard top OR soft top. All he ran, year round, was the Bestop combo. Bikini, Windjammer, Duster. Storms, blizzards, everything. There were some gaps around the rollbar but livable. Cold wasn't a big issue in the winter since there was less cubic volume to heat. He was one of the first guys to get the Trektop, though.

Since then, Bestop introduced the WrapAround Windjammer and the Soundbar Cap. The Windjammer closes up the gaps a lot better and the cap protects the soundbar. But, really unless you're leaving the Jeep parked out in a hurricane, the regular stuff will be fine for keeping your stuff safe for most things. Anything more serious and you can use a cover.

My favorite combo is the bikini top and duster. I like the way you can have an open wind-in-your-hair feeling without the sun beating down on you. With the door surrounds, it seals around the doors quite well. However, the windjammer does not work very well with the unlimiteds, especially when you have passengers in the back seat. So in the rain, the back seats get wet.
