Default Ramsey Winches?

I have the opportunity to pick up a Ramsey QM9000 at a steal of a price ($500). It has never had a pull on it other than running it in the owners basement to make sure it works. I tried to do a search on Ramsey winches on this forum and came up pretty empty. Any input is appreciated!

Thanks,

Rick.

For $500 bones brand new for a 9000lb winch is as steal, I think they run north of $1k new! If you don't like it take it off and sell it for the same price you paid for it! I know when I was looking I had Warn, Ramsey, Superwinch on the top of my list for winches.

I had a 9000 on one of my previous TJ's it worked great and was very reliable.

The price seems great!

Yah in my searches I mostly see the Warn and Superwinch at the top of the list as well. I also found a Warn 9.5ti for $800 with one pull, but it looks like it has seen the weather a bit. Ramsey lists this winch at $1711.95 on their site and the cheapest I have seen doing a quick search is about $1100. I just wasn't sure of their reputation and "real life" performance.

They appear to be made in the USA and carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty as well.

Anyone else with personal experience?

Thanks,

Rick.

I had a Ramsey on my CJ for about 15 years. Never failed me once. I bought it used, so I got no idea how old it was.
