Rancho control arm skids install and review
I received my skids yesterday, and put them on last evening. The whole process was pretty simple although it helped having an extra hand. The package had the 2 skids with the hardware in place, with all the washers and spacers in the correct position instead of a separate bag. I removed the old bolt with everything attached and the toughest part was positioning the spacers on either side of the control arm brackets on the axle. The skids wrap around either side of the bracket and because the brackets have a lip on them the spacers go between so the bolt can be tightened without warping the skids. I used a piece of wire to line up the holes and buddy to move the tire back and forth so I could get the new bolt through, tightened and moved onto the next. The whole thing took about an hour or so but they look pretty good and are def pretty thick. I have some pics all of the driver's side, there's too much in the way for good pics on the passenger but it is identical.

you can see the tab fits over the lip and keeps the top from moving and you can kind of see the spacer between the bracket and skid on the right, there is one of those on both sides

and from behind

I am very pleased with these skids and will hopefully get to use/bash them soon. Thanks Rancho for sending these out.

Very nice. I like the bolt on application. I can turn a wrench but cant weld, so any mod I can do myself is a big +. It also looks like it would make it easier to remove the skid and control arm easier for lube.
