Default Rattle noise on tailgate

I have 325/60/18 on the stock spare tire carrier just want to know if this is the problem. If so what can I buy to fix this annoying noise. I buy from Quadratec so if anything I could buy part # or description would be great.

i'm wondering if it's your striker pin. Maybe the extra weight is causing the door to not completely close correctly. I would definitely start thinking about getting a carrier and getting the weight off the door as soon as possible.

What kind of noise? Does it sound like a pot with a glass lid?

I just fixed mine Saturday... Make a long story short I had to take my tire carrier off that attaches to my bumper b/c I'm making some changes, so mean while I put my Smitty Built over size tire carrier that mounts to the door back on... Well when I put it back on I for got to put two pieces of tubes back on that keeps the tire from moving on any SMALL bump and yes made alot of noise, I installed the pieces back on and noise went away. So all that being said if your running your stock tire mount it's not supporting your tire enough causing that noise... Take your tire off and see if the noise is still there to eliminate your problem, hope that helped, good luck...

I had the same problem. I pulled the tailgate apart and worked on it for a while, but couldn't figure it out. Finally put a new bumper with a tire carrier on.

After putting my 35's on I had a little sqeak/rattle coming from tailgate. I rubbed some grease on the door catch and the little plastic peice under that and Bam! No more noise

Had the same noise. Had my 35 on the rear with the MBRP reinforcing brackets and the extended bumpstops then the noise started after about a year. Tried the Smitty bilt carrier also but the noise was still there. when I pushed the tire in ,sounded like it was coming from where the upper gate meets the tub. tried tightning everything down including the hinges ,no good. I ended up putting some weather stripping in this area which helped but didnt eliminate the problem. Finally bit the bullet and purchased a bumper /carrier combo. I know you dont want to hear that ,I know I didnt but I guess that the tail gate is just not designed to carry the extra weight
