I seem to get a weird rattle/squeel/whirring sound when I am on the accelerator in 4th and 6th. Sometimes 6th is fine but most of the time 4th is the issue. The sound only happens when I am on the gas and seems to get louder by adding more gas. Any thoughts? Definitely not any of the heat shields.

I've had the same problem for a long time. Mine is to the point it's extremely loud. Almost like a very high frequency buzzing.

I'm starting to think it's transmission related, I have just been playing music to muffle it but honestly sometimes I just want to listen to my mud terrains hum.

Mine is an 09 with 50k miles hbu?

If it's the same noise as mine I am fairly certain it is transmission related. Mine is a 2008 with about 145k.

Mine makes the same noise in 4th and 6th . While driving I can push to the left alittle on the shifter and the noise will stop it's been like that for a few years . I changed the trans fluid and didn't find any metal in it .
