Default RC 2.5 BB – Need alignment?

For those of you that did the rc 2.5 bb with shock extensions: Did you need an alignment after you added the lift, I know the steering wheel needs to be centered.? Did you notice any difference in the ride? I was not going to add a rear track bar relocation bracket. Does this setup have any real issues. Any response would be great. I plan to put the bb on in the morning. This is my first post and I just bought a 2008 4 door jk sahara. As a former CJ/YJ/TJ owner I can't say enough about how great the JK is.
Thanks

I've run mine for a year without an alignment or trackbar. Just adjust the draglink to center the wheel and you should be good to go. I'm of the opinion that anyone who says they can tell the rear axle isn't centered is full of it. I've stared at it and I surely can't see a 1/4 inch. It should drive just fine as is. If you are going down the road and it is pulling one way or the other, then maybe have it aligned.

Same here on my old JK. I didn't even have to center the wheel. Install was super easy and quick.

Just picked up a new RUBI so I'm startin' all over again. Tryin' to decide what to do with her now. lol!

Unless you install adjustable components (control arms, trackbar, etc), there's not much to align in the Jeep. However, it seems alignment shops will still charge you their going rate for an alignment, ignoring that it's a job easily done at home in a few minutes. Here's more info:

Smile Lift done

I would highly recommend the r/c 2.5 bb. It not only looks great, rides like stock and was easy to install but it was cheap. $139 shipped to my door through rough country's best offer on ebay. It is perfect if you are going to keep your stock wheels or move to 33s. Thanks again for everyones help.

I was one of the "no alignment needed" guys too. Mine drove good for a year, then the dreaded Wobble.

Not urgent, but eventually get a rear track bar bracket, and a front one too, for 2.5 inches you will be fine with the bracket. I just installed an adjustable track bar. I was about a full half inch off center (3 inch lift), and the change was obvious.

My next step is to go ahead with adjustable arms.

just MHO...

Forgot to mention...

If you get bigger tires, check yor toe in. It will change with bigger tires. I was surprised at how much.

I take it you have the RC lift with control arms, if so any problems? I'm thinking of purchasing this kit and I really don't do off roading. I don't plan on changing out the lift size so the non adjustable control arms that come with the kit should be fine for me right? I take it this kit would never be out of alignment where the control arms are either since they're made for this kit? Would just have to make sure the steering wheel is centered.
