How can I tell if my RC springs are straight or progressive?

I agree. The problem probably isn't your springs.
Adjustable LCAs help greatly with a stiff ride.

The distance between the upper coils is less than than distance between the lower coils. They are progressively wound tighter from bottom to top.

However, it may be hard to tell if they are installed.

Some owners of the RC progressive coils have reported that the upper coils are fully compressed (touching). which can be the cause for the stiff ride.

The best way is to check the part numbers or date of purchase. I *think* all of the coils in certain RC lifts were all progressive at one time. If you follow the threads on the subject, RC has been willing to replace those coils with linear ones.

Sorry for the late reply, I guess I wasn't subscribed to the thread! Yes I'm running the 35 x 13.50's.

I'm running them at 33 PSI. Should I be running them at 26-28 psi??

Gotcha. I was thinking that would cause uneven tire wear, since it's a daily driver.

Been running my e load range at 25-26 for the past 20,000 miles and rotated 3 times. The wear is perfectly even.

Adjustable control arms do nothing for ride quality, but do allow for caster adjustment (impacting the way your JK steers/tracks) and pinion angle.

I for one, however, am a dissenter regarding how much caster is appropriate; I intentionally run under factory spec - which is 4.5 degrees. But that's anuther thread.

The springs themselves are very stiff but the shocks, the so called 2.2 are the horrible part of the package. They, at least the ones I got rid of were so flabby on compression and rebound that I'm surprised anyone would market such stuff. They are impressive looking and appear to be a real deal but what a disapointment. They were worse than a set of $5.00 monroe super saver specials from hog mart. The plain black JK x shocks are far superior to them and I use those with a set of Rubicon 4dr springs on a 2dr X with great results. I also use a 1 inch spacer in front and back for just the right lift for me.

Cool. I'll try airing down. I didn't realize I was running it too high! Thanks for the tips.

The RC lift hasn't been the best.. but I don't have anything really to compare it to, as far as other JK lifts. I was under the impression that the shocks were actually one of the better parts of RC's lift systems. Wouldn't be the first time I've been mistaken! (Obviously... thank God for the forum eh?)
