Default RE GEAR do i need one ...

First of all sorry for all the newbie questions I'm starting to wonder if people are getting tired of my posts

I have a 2dr 2010 wrangler which I lifted 2.5" and lost a little acceleration coz of the bigger tires and rims I was thinking of a CAI from KnN cause they were saying that you will get the power back but after reading threads about it now starting to think its not worth the money, this is my first ever "modding" if I may call it and want it to work out so far very happy with the look and all I need is the power back how much should I re gear?

Oh it's killing me on fuel as well
All help will be appreciated plus my dealer is an
Asshole who tries to rip everyone off so I want to go prepared ...

Have you calibrated your computer for the bigger tires with an AEV ProCal? It won't necessarily boost your torque and horsepower, but you'll get your shift points back in an auto as well as correct your speedometer, tach and odometer.

It seems that people suggest like a HyperChip for a nice boost, but I don't know of one for the 3.6 yet, which is what I have. I also have the 3.21 gears and don't really notice much of a difference after going from the stock 29" inchers on the base model 16s, except for on the highway. Mine is a 6-speed manual. I'd be ok with 3.73 but will wait and go with 4.xx when I move bigger than 33.

You didn't say what you drive now, besides an '10. So, which transmission (auto/manual) and gear ratio? You'd be ok with 4.10 of you plan on sticking with 33s and not go bigger, but I don't know what gear ratio works best for the 3.8 on all the different tire sizes.

Oh yes sorry about that its an auto trans, I think this is what I missed out I was just checking on the AEV procal I would be getting it done by the end of the month, and if u have done this already what do mean when you say you haven't notice except for the highway

I plan on staying with the 33" for now don't want the tire noise to bug me for the time plus just got the new tires last 2weeks ago

Ill be getting the smittybilt XRC front bumper which is gonna add a little weight on the ride as well

Thanks for ur insight I will update afterwards on the results

Sorry, I haven't noticed much of a performance decrease since moving up to 33s except for on the highway. In 6th, I can cruise on flat straights, but medium hills require a downshift when before I didn't have that problem.

Get 4.56 incase you ever want to move up to 35's

Don't fear the gear!! IF you do decide to regear, you'll probably only want to do it once. If it were my Jeep, I'd go with either 4.88 or 5.13. Just saying

Assuming you have the 3.73 gears, you will definitely want to get a tuner to calibrate the tires and get a little extra power. If you don't plan on ever going over 33's, this might be liveable to you, though not ideal. If you plan going bigger, you will want to regear at some point, but I would save my money until you make that decision
