Default Re-gear my Rubicon?

So turns out 4.10 gears were a option on the 2012 Rubicon and I being a new Jeep guy didn't know this when I bought mine used... I tested my gear ratio and it turns out I got unlucky enough to end up with 3.73 gears in mine. After a road trip to my deer lease this weekend I was less than satisfied in the highway performance... My question is what are the best gears for me to like both the highway performance and off road capability and best brands to look at? I'm a newbie so any input helps.

It really depends on what you have. Manual or automatic transmission and tire size all are a factor. I have an auto with 35" tires and 4.88 gears. If you search for jeep jk gear ratio chart you will find a listing of gear ratios based on tire size and trans. That is how I decided I needed 4.88 gears. I'm can drive 70 and get 16 mpg over the 13 I was getting.

So 4:10s were not stock on the '12 JKUR?? I would not re-gear unless you are going up quite a bit like from 3:73 to 4:88, or 4:10 to 4:88/5:13 for example.

There's a lot of charts that calculate revs, but IMO they don't account for the extra weight added by tires, lifts, bumpers, equipment, etc. I like going 1 ratio deeper.

EDIT: Just did a quick google.. and you are right. Kinda sucks, but I guess the '12 transmission w/3:73 is identical.

Thanx guys I'll google the charts... and I'm for sure going to at least 4.88's but I do have 35's and both front and rear bumpers along with a winch so I'm dealing with a little extra weight...

Do some more research. With a 3.6 and 35's, I doubt that you will end up past 4.56. (4.88-5.38 are needed for the 3.8's.)

You will find some faq's at the top of this modified area, with a drivetrain section that includes some charts for reference. But, look for opinions of other people with the 3.6 in any of the thousand other gearing threads before choosing.

That's right! I forgot about the extra 85 ponies haha.. Then, yeah.. prob 4:88 would be the deepest, and you'd be set for when you go to 37s.
