kingsize Ii ain't ruling you out, and would love any advice as to how to verify your theory!. as i am about to start a build on a tera30 i gotta make sure my shit is straight. but for your, and everyone elses help here is a pic of the tubes, from both sides. the long tube looks bent to me up and back to me, which could explain a lot!. but if indeed they charged me for a 3.73 carrier and put in a 3.21 (my stock 3.21 is in pieces out on the dunes) i wana verifly and make sure! I was under the impression that 4.10 side/spider gears wouldn't even fit in a 3.21 carrier...but i am still learning.

pics are rotated 90* but first is from long side, second is short (driver) side. having looked through them, i can't look at that damn tube without unseeing the bend. Got a few guys to come check it out, without prompting the universal agreement is passenger tube bent back and up.. of course thats on the shady 4x4 shop too. they never should have regeared this bent ass housing. i believe they knowingly did it, hoping for repeat business when the bent housing caused a failure down the line. but ive screamed and threatened both manager and owner to no avail. they got my money, they aint given it back.

So if they aren't going to make it right, then you should let us all know the name of the shop that did the work. Don't let a fellow Jeeper stumble into the same problem. What is the shops name?

Yeah...I'd totally smear them on here. Shops should have integrity and if they want to keep business, they would. Getting the word out could impact their business and while they may not make it right with you, maybe they'll rethink their customer support perspective in the future.

Use a string line to check if the tube is straight. Run a string above the tube and one in front of the tube. Measure from the string to the tube along its entire length. That will give you a true indication of how bent the tube is.

Well said. Also, we should ensure that a job well done doesn't go without praise. A good shop that really helps their customers and who does a good job, should be recognized. In Northern VA, I use a shop called High Tech Auto. They have always done a good job on my Jeep and whenever I had an issue, they fixed it immediately. Good folks over there.

I think that if you started with a severely bent axle, the shafts would be very hard to insert into the carrier. I bet they got the shaft close to all the way in and forced them in with the bolts on the knuckle. This would cause a ton of stress on the splines with maybe the results you have.
Just another theory.

The shop is called 4wheel center in el paso. They wont even talk about warrantying their work without giving them $275.
