re-gearing question.
This is probably a dumb question but this is my 1st 4wd vehicle. I want to go to 4.10 gearing (or better). Do I need to replace both the front and rear diffs if I re-gear?

Is there a way to validate the gearing is the same. My window sticker states 4.10 rear for the tow package upgrade. Is it possible that they wouldn't have done the front?

If they were different your jeep would jerk and bounce while in 4wd.

The term "rear" when talking about differential gearing does not necessarily mean the back axle. "Rear end" has been interchangable by old timers (way back when I was a kid) with the term "differential", whether or not it is the front or the "rear".... Nowadays we mostly use the term "differential" rather than "rear" but you get the idea.
And yes, that was a dumb question, but we all have them so it's ok...
