Ready to get high
I've read numerous threads on lifts and all they have done is created more questions for me. So I have to ask those of you with experience a few lift questions before I buy.
1) Whats the best lift for a DD? (wear and tear wise)
2) Which company offers a coil spring lift with HD springs? (plan on bumper winch in future)
3) How good is the FT 3" econo kit and does it need adjustable track bars?
finally,
I like the OME 2" kit but that thing looks huge (must be taller than 2") and Im afraid it may cause driveline issues. thank You

OK
Just a clarification or two -
You are considering a 3" SL, but NOT the 2" OME SL, because it might be too high?

If you get the HD coils on the OME 2", but do not have the extra armor, sure, you get more lift....until you add the armor. If you get the regular coils on the OME 2" kit, you get more like 2", after it settles, etc. Every one gets the HD coils though, and then says, Gee, its more than 2"!
If you have a 2 dr, over 3" requires driveline mods....for the 4 drs, 4-5" seems to be where that kicks in.
Even a 2.5" SL seems to require an adjustable or new length track bar, for SOME people, regardless of brand of lift, as the shifted axles do not really care who's SL shifted them...it doesn't matter. Most people do not need the track bar until 3" or so though....so YMMV, etc.

TeraFlex 2.5 budget boost should work fine for your DD. ($269.00 shipped or less)You get the shock extensions and keep your shocks. IT should drive fine and not have any issues with drive line. Later you can get new shocks since you saved money on the lift. You should be able to use 35" tires at full flex depending on your backspace. The right backspace wheels or spacers will make everything go smoothly with no rubbing. I like 33" tires as a DD with 4.10 gears. That's just me your mileage may vary.

I originally put a 2 inch bb on, with spaces, rear sway bar lowering blocks.
This was not enough for me so I bought Black diamond 3 inch springs and rancho shocks for a 4 inch lift. I added the rear track bar adjuster and the brake line brackets, and the bump stops for the front.
I have less than $500 into this lift, got a full 4 inches, a great ride very close to stock, and recovered the drop I got when I installed the winch and Highrock Steel bumper.
I was going to do adjustable control arms and track bars as time and money allowed, but I have fantastic articulation with stock arms off road, a great ride and after 5,000 miles on this lift I can detect no abnormal tire wear or alignment issues. All i had to do was adjust the steering wheel position.
3 inch springs, Rancho shocks, track bar adjuster, some brackest for brakes and sway bar, bump stops that came with the BB. $500. 4 iches. Great performance on and off road. just hard for my wife t get into.
See my avitar. this is the offroading I do. Even I am surprised at the performance of this simple and inexpensive lift. I am wondering when and if I will run into any problems. I off road it pretty hard.
My biggest worry is the front drive line angle.
You can spend thousands getting what i got. We will see if i have to upgrade anything. For now I am happy.
