Default Real world tire size data

I want to put together a thread that lists real world tire sizes for the members here. Please submit the following info:

Brand , Tire name , Tire size , Rim size, PSI, Milage on tire when measured, Tire height to the nearest 1/4 inch.

Kelley, TSR, 315/70/17 , 17x8, 30, New , 34 in.

I will put it all together by brand and tire type. make sure you provide accurate info. Lay a straight edge across the top of your tire and measure to the ground.

Thanks, I will keep updating. I would like to get several measurements off the same type tires

just to that it's clear, real world tire sizes will always come up shorter than what is listed on the sidewalls and really, should not be used when discussing jeep mods. anytime you hear about tire size to lift height discussions, it is always in relationship to what is listed on the sidewalls and NOT what they actually measure up to.

Not to mention wheel width and air pressure in the tire plays a part in the over all mounted size

HHHhhhhmmmmmmmmm...... ???

Are we not supposed to ask? don't want to ruffle any feathers here really but....

My 315/75R16 Goodyear MTR's on 16x8 rims at 30 psi measured 34.8"

My 37x14.5R15 Toyo Open Country MT's on 15x10 rims at 30 psi measured 35.7"

My 315/75R16 Pro Comp Xterrains on 16x8 rims at 30 psi measured 33.7"

A friends 35x13.5R15 BFG Krawlers on 15x8 Rockmonster rims at 25 psi measure out at 34.5"

A friends 36x13.5Bias15 iRoks on 15x10 rims at 20psi measure out at 36.8"

We all know that sidewall tire imprints and website specs are just that..... specs, and realize that real world measurements and sizes will vary depending on the use and application but the philosophy behind finding out this info is to what degree does it vary... close is good enough for me but a whole 1" to almost 2" off spec'd size isn't.

I think all that we're looking for here is the tire sizes and rim/psi combos that are close to spec sizes... not exact sizes.

I figured this would be a positive thread and a good thing for members to know before spending a lot of cash on tire sizes they think they're getting.... they do vary quite substantially from what I've seen and asked around our club and local sponsors.... but if you deem this post inappropriate or view it as negative slander against the tire manufacturers (which it is not intended to be) then by all means delete away.

I think you may be missing the point of WOL's post. If a lift manufacturer says its lift will work with up to a 35" tire, the manufacturer is talking about the stated size of the tire on the tire. WOL's post points out that it would be improper for someone to think "oh, ok, since these 37's have a real world measurement of 34.9, I guess I can run them with that lift because the lift works on tires up to 35" when in reality the lift may not work with such a tall tire.

Obviously real world tire circumference matters for other things, such as setting a Procal or Superchips. But that is very individualized and the user should absolutely check their own actual tire size instead of relying on a chart.

From some other members that answered a similar post of mine:

35x12.50x17 MTZ's on 17x9 classic II's at 30 PSI = 33.8
The same setup with ATZ's was 33.5

OK... I didn't get what he was meaning and with your explanation I understand better the relationship between the manufs having to go with tire spec sizes and what their lifts are spec'd for or will allow. When dealing with such topics yup the manufacturers have to go with the specs between each other... got it.

I was just simply going for actual tire size on rims on jeep with no consideration of lift or other mods and wasn't trying to throw off any balance between manufs.... more of an awareness thing rather than an order at own risk kinda thing....

Again... thanks for the clarification and it's all good.
