I recently ordered a trek top from chris at jeep and truck add ons. as expected the price and service was great. when i received the top i found that there were small areas were the top was starting to tear, were i could see light through the seams and the rear tail gate bar snapped the first time i tried to open it. i contacted criss and he immediately send me out a new one. sadly i went to put the new on on today and found that a piece of the header bar has cracked off, either at the factory or during shipping. . the box did arrive with large pieces of the top sticking out. it seems like it got wet and then tore open in a number of places.

Im really disappointed in bestops quality. i understand that the second top was likely damaged in transit and not their fault, but the first box was also pretty banged up so they need to pack the tops to survive the seemingly rough shipping.

so here i sit without a decent top, furus at bestops quality controle/ packing abilities. the hassel of this whole thing is what bothers me. its has just wasted allot time. i will call chris tomorrow and no doubt he will offer to send me a new one but frankly i dont know if i want a new one.

Are there any other better quality soft tops that look like the trek top nx. right now id rather cut off my arm than give bestop my money.

seriously? Bestop has no viable competition.

 

Look up off road heroes. That have one thats supposed to be better quality.

 

thanks for the suggestion. i did some research on the forum about those guys, every time they are mentioned there is an administrator warning about them being a dodgy company. their web site is also very strange. after some thought and the realization that there really are not any viable alternative i think im going to try to build a half decent top out of the two i have. maybe i can score i discount on the damaged parts.
