Default Rear ac

Hey this is my first post in this forum. But I have had Jeep’s in the past and just got a 2018 JKU. I have a 11 month old son and notice it’s pretty hot in the back seat. I’ve done some research on methods to keep the Jeep cool and all but have had an idea of a “rear ac” system. I saw a YouTube video of a guy who ran a run from his feet blower vents to the rear…. We’ll that got me thinking. Has anyone hooked up a small blower motor under the drivers seat or in the center console? My idea is to do as he did and hook a thinner flat piping from the feet vents, run them in the center console plastic to the intake of a small blower motor under the seat. Then from there I was going to 3D print a panel for the rear of the center console and get two Jeep vents. What’s everyones thought on the blower motor under the seat in play to “pull” ac???

Gosh, there isn't a ton of room to run something like that under the center console IMO. I've always hated that our jeeps didn't have rear vents. I don't think it would have been that hard for them to design that into the console when they did the new interior moldings in '11.

I found a smaller blower motor that’s 5”x5”x1.5”. I was thinking maybe under the drivers seat there will be a little room. We’ll see where I go with all this lol. Still in the thought and design process now

Start by installing roof insulation on (if you don't have already) and don't use a soft top if you already use one. And run AC on recirc mode. That might help. That motor under the seat would help too.

Yes sir! I don’t have the roof insulation on the hard top yet. I do have plans on making my own sound deadening and heat reflective head liners. I have a CNC machine that I planned on using if I can manage to keep the cost down on material.
