It is only lie 4 bolts to pull it off, i think easier than the front to do. Then you could build it right there with the Jeep.

I always find to many variables when going back and forth between a shop space and the Jeep, so i like to work on the stuff with the Jeep right there.

Exactly.. I just wanted to get an idea so when I pick up materials I know what I'm going to need.. But I haven't looked under there yet.. And if its only 4 bolts then I'll just yank it off and figure it out.. Thanks

It depends how you are going to build it. Are you going to use tubing or plate? 3/16 or 1/4? Wrap around the corners like similar to stock? If plate are you gonna box it or leave the backside open? How about d-rings or maybe a tow hitch? Do you have a bumper you are making a plan off of? Share your ideas please!

I can't wait to start my rear, but i need to finish the front and rails before i take on another project.

Here's my front bumper I built way before there was any aftermarket out there..
It's a little different now, I dropped in a Warn Power Plant Winch between the frame rails.. and addded lights.. I need to get an updated pic... For the rear I picked up another set of stock Fog lights That will be mounted in it with D-rings and looking at adding a small 4500 # warn winch.. All internal.. Along with Spare tire carrier and rack..

Default At least six bolts on the rear bumper

I was digging under my JK tonight. There are two bolts on the outside of each lengthwise frame member that attach to brackets that attach to the rear bumper (four bolts). Then there are another two bolts about a quarter of the way in from each side of the Jeep on the rear frame cross member that attach to brackets that attach to the bumper (two bolts). Four bolts + two bolts equals six bolts. Of course, I didn't completely remove the bumper so there could be a few more I didn't notice in my 15 minutes of tinkering.
