Rear bumper replacement...
I'm looking to replace my back bumper with either a LOD Gen 2 with lights rack and jerry can holders or a Shrockworks one set up the same. My problem is that I like Shrockworks products (have front stubby and rocksliders) however I would save about $600 with the LOD.
Does anyone have the LOD back bumper, or know anything about thier products?
Thanks!

Just got my LOD rear about two weeks ago. I am still waiting on the rack and can holders. Hopefully this week. The install writeup on here is a good one. They have made a few changes since the writeup. I do like the bumper. Tested it on a few rocks and it holds up well. Good quality and worth the wait. I have the Shrockworks mid-width front. I can say the front is great quality and has held up well.
With all that said I don't think I will purchase anything else from LoD but I would purchase from Shrockworks again.

I'm diggin the LOD I just installed. It's a quality piece. I had a Currie tire carrier on my old CJ and it was a rattle trap. The LOD is stout, solid , and absolutely rattle free.
It's shipped in a wooden crate and packed nicely. Installation requires a helping hand due to the weight of the bumper , but other than that the installation was a piece of cake.

I also installed the LOD Gen2 rear full width Bumper , (we also are still waiting for the accessories to arrive). I would definitely recommend the rear Gen2 bumper to a friend .
I have not seen the Shrockworks in person , however, I did include it in the list of companies I researched. In the end I chose the LOD and having just looked at the pictures of the Shrockworks again , I would still go with LOD.
A: LOD offers jerry can mounts and the trail rack which were among my criteria
B: the LOD allows the spare to be mounted higher out of the way of offroad interference AND Onroad hazards. If for instance one of these nameless faceless morons tailgating you on a daily basis hits you, the spare will likely be well above the impact zone.
C: I noticed that the Shrockworks doesn't appear to have any contact with the Jeeps OEM tire snubbers, this could be a factor in vibration.... Does anyone have one of the Shrockworks and know if they vibrate?
Caveat: Several days after the LOD was installed I added a rubber buffer to cushion the latch end of the swing gate as it began to bang against the metal "bearing" surface when we hit road bumps. I used a rubber wedge to cushion the business end of the swing gate . I'm currently looking for a suitable chunk of polyurethane so I can bolt mount to the surface below the latch end of the swing gate, thus buffering the vibration/slap. I'm rather amazed that this issue wasn't addressed but , thats the progressive nature of fabrication and improvement
BOTH bumpers are MADE IN USA!!! and that was my number 1 criteria.
LOD and Shrockworks both have great reputations, I'd be just as proud to have their Shrockworks gear on my rig. I simply preferred the LOD for the aforementioned reasons
ALSO: I spotted Chris from LOD upgrading the GEN1 (earlier version) bumper folks to beta hardware add ons which improve the bumper snubbers at no cost and that Impressed the hell out of me. I'm definitely impressed by a Company that stands behind their products.
If you are impatient to get it installed, You might call both companies and ask about time-frame for delivery, this is their busy season for sure.
