Default Rear Cargo Storage as Built-in Cooler!

So has anyone used that plastic bin under the carpet in the rear cargo area as a small cooler? There's a drain hole under the plastic sleeve and if you drill a drain hole in the plastic removable bin (with a matching stopper) you can easily drain the melted ice. It sorta insulates due to the small air pocket between the body and plastic bin, sort of like a tervis tumbler cup. I'm thinking of using some of the spray foam to insulate it better...

Just wondering if you guys have done the same? It's just another way I like to use normally unseen wasted space as something you wouldn't expect to find.

LOl! Some of these ideas crack me up.
Great idea if you're not driving anywhere. Would think that heat from muffler would cause ice to melt quick. I always carry a PolarBear 24 soft cooler.

Don't go up or down a hill! Would think the water would slosh right out of there, that lid doesn't exactly make a tight seal.

But I love the idea, though I keep stuff in that spot, tools, bungees and such.
