So I took a quick peek at the coils and it looks like the top three are fully compressed and I was only able to squeeze my pinky finger into the space between the third and fourth.

Is this normal?

Given that you have an aftermarket bumper and winch that is normal for those progressive coils. The extra weight fully compressed the portion of the spring with lower spring rate which is supposed to be to absorb small bumps and irregularities, leaving on the higher spring rate portion to provide any compression. This is probably which those RC coils provide a rough ride.

My AEV progressive rate coils are not even close to touching because I am still running a lighter weight and they are designed to carry a couple hundred pounds front and back to accommodate extra gear. The ride is a bit oversprung as a result. However even at their target weight the coils are not fully compressed.

Designing and manufacturing progressive rate coils is a bit of an art and also a compromise because they are more weight sensitive. They are not something that fits in with a low cost lift kit. This is probably why RC has decided to go with the linear rate.

Just received a PM from the RC rep and he's hooking me up with new rear coils!

Great customer service, this makes me a happy I picked RC for my lift.
