Rear coils compressed too much?
Hey guys,
I spent the afternoon cleaning up the Jeep to get it ready for spring and noticed that the rear of the Jeep seemed to be sagging. I only have about half a tank of fuel and the backseat is out of the Jeep so I don't have anything heavy in there.
So I took a quick peek at the coils and it looks like the top three are fully compressed and I was only able to squeeze my pinky finger into the space between the third and fourth.
Is this normal?

My AEV progressive rate coils are not even close to touching because I am still running a lighter weight and they are designed to carry a couple hundred pounds front and back to accommodate extra gear. The ride is a bit oversprung as a result. However even at their target weight the coils are not fully compressed.
Designing and manufacturing progressive rate coils is a bit of an art and also a compromise because they are more weight sensitive. They are not something that fits in with a low cost lift kit. This is probably why RC has decided to go with the linear rate.
