Default Rear inner fender flares

I've noticed a lot of guys leave the rear inner fender flares out on the stock flares. Is there any down fall to doing this? I'm considering doing it myself and don't see any real issue yet.

if you live in an area where you see a lot of mud, it would be nicer to keep them in as they would help prevent all that crap getting into your engine and electrical components.

Even if it's just the rear ones? I'm just wondering cause I have one out because I broke the pos rivets that hold them in

Ok thank you, I went off roading last weekend and shot my 35s right and took the right side clear off, so I just needed a quick fix
