Im sure this has been asked before but here goes again. Will a locker from a TJ D44 work on the rear of a JK D44?

There are numerous replies on this. There are also some lockers in the works for the JK Dana 44.

Here is a response on the subject when I had asked the question - response by ZEEKSTA:
the gears are different. the carrier is not. BUT!!!!! the ring gear bolts are a different size, so you need to DRILL your new carrier to accept the 1/2 ring gear bolts. not for the faint hearted! ALSO it has thicker ring gears, so you need to order the opposite gear ratio carrier
heres an example.
i put 513s in my rear x model 44 (30 spline) i had to buy a detroit for an 06 model (tj) 44 (30 spline) for 3.55 and lower numerically gears, read 3.08
if you buy a carrier for 3.73 and up it wont work.

The Aussie Locker (Lunchbox Locker) was supposed to be in testing by November 2008 when I last checked with them. ARB makes the Air Lockers currently.....not sure what is available beyond that.

Keep me posted if you find out more as I am interested too but don't want the ARB Lockers $$$
