My buddies locker was engaged and wouldn't disengage and he drove like that and he took it to the dealer and they replaced his whole carrier.

The differential may be in a binding position. Try turning in some tight turns and then straiten it back out and try locking it then.

How often do u use it? Mine had an awful time when it was new. If have to wrap on the diff covers with a hammer to get it to move. I started forcing it almost daily using the hammer on diff technique. After a couple days, it freed up. Now it works flawlessly. Use it or loose it I guess!

How often do u use it? Mine had an awful time when it was new. I use to have to smack the diff cover to get it to engage and release. Took it to the dealer and they replaced it. Same thing with the second unit. I started using it on a near daily basis on a dirt road. After a couple days, I didn't have to smack it anymore. Now she works like butter any time any where.

Make sure it is actually not engaging, not just that the light isn't going solid. Drive in a tight circle on some loose gravel (or even pavement) to confirm. If it IS actually locking up, then its just the plunger that is stuck/bad.

If it isn't engaging, and you're under warranty for the powertrain, then take it in. They don't repair the lockers, so as long as it is not an electrical issue and actually a locker issue, they'll replace the entire carrier.

If it's not under warranty, search for a thread where someone used Dana 60 shims to give the locker a stronger engagement.

Hope this helps!

May seem dumb but.... Drain fluid, remove cover spray a can of brake cleaner in there, concentrate on the area that slides in/out to engage.

Check for ronjenx thread on diff / locker for great pics.

New fluid, then try again, drive in circles figure 8 forwards and reverse locking unlocking
