Default Rear Pinion Angle

I am installing Adj Control arms, and was wondering what the deg's should the rear pinion be set at, so that i adjust the rear right? I have heard every thing from 3deg to 7...but no one has stated "this is it" so is it a floating number?

Can someone lock this down for me so i can rock this install smoothly!

depends on what driveshaft you are running.

I'm no expert on the subject, but I believe it's tough to give you an exact measurement because everyone's lift is slightly different with different vehicle weights/loads/ride height. I just winged it on mine. tilted the pinion up enough so that the rzeppa joint wasn't pinched. This was only a temporary solution until I got a CV shaft. 100 times smoother now.

If your using your stock DS at that lift height, try to angle your pinion up so that it is parallel or slightly less than parallel with your rear DS. This will help keep your stock DS happy.

Tom Woods site will show you a diagram on how the stock shaft should look.

Several people have posted similar statements, but i don't find anything on the site about stock drive shafts (Cv on both ends). can you point me to the right information?

It has diagrams in the tech info area. One for a two-joint driveshaft, and one for double cardans (single joint at one end and a double joint at the other). I have assumed that the stock rzeppa driveshafts would use the two-joint chart, since that is the orientation of the pinion/tcase output from the factory. Is this incorrect?
