Did this happen just after that bumper install? I would check to make sure it was put on correctly. If all good check the inside welds. Did this happen overnight or over a long period of time?

looks modified all over to me, / lifted / bumpers/ ... nice looking though

the crack is opening from top down so it almost looks like a weight issue on the weld

Best wishes on a fix! btw : Some times they go for repair if they fall off the truck and still new . 14 miles means nothing
and they don't even have to say it was in accident either ( way back in time I bought a truck new , and found out it was hit in tailgait no miles on it . waxed it and the wax stained the paint due to improper paint job they repainted a new one but
I agree with everything you stated. If the modification caused the issue, I am responsible and will take on any cost to fix my Jeep. I am just curious of the true cause. If I fix it and it happens again than in my belief, I simply put a bandaid on the issue. I am concerned that this is a problem beyond just a simple repair of the quarter panels.

On another note, I have ripped up the carpet. Nothing is noticeable from inside the tub. I think I need to remove the tail light to get any additional information. The weld seam break, seems to be, in the air gap where the tail light sits.

That said, if Jeep sold this vehicle as new, after a repair was performed. That is fraud. Any attorney could win that argument with their eyes closed. I will seek legal representation, if that is the case.

I just noticed it. Not sure how long the problem has existed and whether it cracked and stopped, or if the problem is getting worse and worse each day.

Default it would have me kinda freaked out

if I saw mine opening like that ! I totally understand your concern on solution or will it just do it again . Just saying if Chrysler wants to they could point finger at your mods

To close this thread. The dealership ended up covering the repair, about $2500 in body work.

Did the bumper touch or nearly touched the body ?

If the dealership covered it, was it their money or warranty from production that paid. They should tell you for future coverage if needed.

I have to agree with jeepmojo. I had been in the paint supply business and have seen new cars right off the transport being repaired.

Did the dealer explain what caused the issue?
I am having a hard time picturing an after market bumper causing the seam to spread like that?
