Rear seat relocation??
With my JKU I have two car seats. To make them fit easier partially fold the rear seat forward until the headrest come unlocked, then hold the headrest folded back while you set the rear seat up. Then keep holding it while you put in the car seat. It may take an extra set of hands.

I have twins due on Saturday so I'll have 2 car seats. I'm 6'1" so will need all the drivers seat legroom I can get. I'd love more space, but what you said makes no sense to me. Why would partially folding the rear seats forward create more room for a car seat? Wouldn't this also cause a huge safety concern?
Wut?

To your OP question, I have yet to hear of someone moving the rear seat back in a safe looking manner.
Terry, the headrest won't help you with a rear facing seat. I too am 6'1 and I have to put the rear facing for our newborn on the passenger side and the forward facing for our 2 year old on my side to give more room. A lot of the space needed will depend on the specific car seat but it will definitely be tight .Good luck with the twins and congrats
If you have Welding skills. Anything is possible. You could fab another set of rings in the back and weld them in place. Getting the seat to lock in safely with a set of fabed rings will be tricky but it's possible.
