Rear shock help
2014 JKUR 3.5" MC GC w King 2.5s. Looking to get a couple more inches of down travel on rear shocks as they appear to bottom out when fully loaded and hitting bumps. Was looking into the synergy upper relocation brackets for rear shocks but the instructions clearly state not compatible w King 2.5s. Can anyone give me any other solutions? Or has anyone run the synergy brackets w King 2.5s ... does it require a lot of modification to work?? Thx
do you mean you want more "up" travel? More down travel won't help with suspension bottoming out. What travel are you running now and how much up travel do you currently have? Are you going to have any clearance issues with tires if your suspension has increased up travel?
When I added EVO Rockstars I looked at that Synergy bracket as I obviously lost a little uptravel. It sure didn't look like a fun install and I've opted to run an extra 1" bump till I can get different shocks. I really hate referencing this site, but did you see this thread -

Post #38 highlights some of the issues and mods it would require to use em with those King 2.5's.

3" of shaft at ride height with no issues in terms of tire clearance means you are running the wrong length shocks. Only solution is to raise the upper or lower the lower mounts. Even if you can squeeze another inch by moving the upper mount higher is unlikely to solve your issue of bottoming out. The shocks still need room to work. You might talk to someone about changing the valving so the shocks won't compress as fast.
