Default Rear shock orientation?

Anyone know the rear shock orientation? Does the can go towards the top or bottom? Does it depend on the shock?

depends on the shock. some need to be mounted can side up and others can side down. you can't really go wrong as most come with bar pins pre-installed and they'll determine where it needs to be.

The Skyjacker Hydros did not come with the bar pin. Two people mentioned they should be can side down, but I just wanted to be sure because other shocks Ive seen on the JK all appear to be can side up..

Gotcha. So is it a general rule that most hydros are can side down and nitros are can side up?

Most nitro's can be mounted either way unless stated differently on the shock itself.
