Default Rear Spring Question

Long story short. I have a major klanking coming from the rear of my 2008 JK. I noticed that the rear springs sit right against the metal lower seat on the axle. Should their be some kind of rubber gasket that sits between the spring and the metal seat on the axle. I also have rear JKS Nitrogen Bump Stops. When I look at the bump stop, their is no way it would hit the plate on the axle because it is angled. Could my rear axle have twisted up or down. Sorry best way I could explain it.
