Default rear tailgate tire mount

I installed a 3.5 rubicon express lift this past weekend. Today I put new Goodyear Kevlar 37" MTR's on 17" M/T Classic Locks with 4.5" backspacing. I installed the spare on the stock tire carrier with 4 washers to space it out. It hits the bumper but it I got the lug nuts on there with several threads. My question is how much weight is too much for the stock carrier and the tailgate? It seems to make it harder to close like the weight is pulling it down.
