Default Rear trackbar

Since installing the RE 4,5" longarmsystem, the rear axle has been a bit misaligned, approx. 3/4" to the left (rear view). As a budget solution, I did the following: removed the track bar from the relocation bracket, aligned the axle perfectly, marked a new hole in the relocation bracket and drilled it, a bit to the right upward. After installing everything back together and lowering the Jeep to the ground, it is a perfect alignment, with exactly the same space on the right and left (measured from the frame to the tire).

Good or bad idea? And please give me some constructive comments, sick and tired to death by all besserwissers out there, which only goal is to make everyone else feel stupid by harsh and bully comments. I really like to know if this was a good or bad idea, and if the slightly steeper angle on the track bar will affect anything else in anyway?

(Sorry for the blurry photo, but it gives you a hint, at least...)

I think thats just fine. I have done that before on some really budget Jeeps just to get it all square. I drilled the factory bracet too. As long as it works and you don't feel it tear up or sounding not safe I would check other routes, but for now it looks good from here.JOE>

Thx, just came back from a little test run. Got rid of the small rear drivline vibrations I had before, and it feels just fine!

Since you drilled the hole ABOVE the original one, it should be fine. Below it might have put too much tension on the typically breakage prone brackets. Seems like it might make it a kittke stronger actually.

It seems strange that RE wouldn't include an adjustable rear trackbar in the kit - given it's cost. I suppose an adjustable bar would be the best, though more costly, option.

Yep, exactly my thoughts as well... Since RE includes the front adjustable one, I think it'd be a good thing to add the rear as well - those extra $ wouldn't make much of a difference. I'll probably get an adjustable in a while, but for now I think this will do it.

My RE 3.5" SF Lift did not include a rear trackbar either. I was going to buy one but decided to install it as per the kit instructions and see what the result was. I was surprised, and pleased when the rear axle was centered within 1/16 of an inch. So I left it as it was figuring I couldn't really improve much upon that. Apparently RE had the spacing really dialed in on that lift.

However yours is a different matter. Apparently their specs were off. Were I you I would call RE and discuss it with them. I'd ask them to provide an adjustable rear trackbar. If they didn't want to do that try to get them to pay part of the cost. I would argue that you bought an expensive kit, one of the most expensive on the market, that was supposed to be complete, and that you shouldn't have to go to outside sources to buy additional parts to make it work. Based on my experience with them I'll bet they'll work with you. But you have to ask.

I do this all the time, to the point it drives my wife crazy, and it usually works. And when a company takes care of me I make sure others know about their excellent customer service.

I have a FT 3" Ultimate lift and I think I have to take the maters in my own hand to dial in the lift. How did you aligned the rear axle??
