Default Rebel Restraint brake conversion???

Anyone using Rebel's brake system? I'm about ready for brakes and wanted to make sure this was the way I wanted to go. At $500 it's not cheap but if it does the job I'll be happy. I live in the mountains so they get a workout. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I'd suggest seeking feedback where it's present. Doesn't appear to be much Rebel activity here, maybe google the Rebel brake kit and see if the hot word pops up in other places.

Have you thought about trying Wilwood brake kits?

Seems way overpriced to me. I mean for $500 they better be substantially better and last longer. I am also always skeptical when a website touts their customers viewpoints as "40% better than stock" rather than something more scientific even if it is just targeted studies.

Now all this is based on simply doing a search and looking at their site but i'll stick to normal old pads and rotors and replace them a few times before I hit the price of these guys.

Rebel has quality products.

Personally I am not a fan of cross drilled rotor's, I prefer slotted.

If you don't need to replace your rotor's why not just throw in a better set of pads such as the EBC Yellow stuff? PM us if you are interested.

Smashboogie- any real world difference between the yellow stuff and hawk pads? I had the green's on a tj and they were on par but elected to go hawks for the jk to try something different but I'm open to options if there's a better one out there.

It really depends which Hawks you are talking about. Hawk has a bunch of different compounds which give you different feelings.

The Yellow stuff has way more initial bite and does not have much fade. We are very happy with the Yellow stuff, they have been wearing great and seem to be rotor friendly so far.

Yellow stuff pads are too rough of a brake pad for street use. I had them... Great for a track car, not a jeep. Better off with green or red ebc pads or some hawk pads.
