Default Reclining Back Seat!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'm riding in the back of a rental today (Commander) and notice a handle when getting out of the truck

There has got to be a way to work this into the JK. I'm not going to be able to look into the design very much and was wondering if anyone here already has.

Should be a way to use the frame or something that would allow us to take advantage of this fellow Jeeps design. The angle given seems to be about 15-20 degrees but it shure made a BIG difference.

Anyone look into this yet?

Hell, I'd settle for a seat that folded flat without flinging forward!

I'm interested as well. The back seat in my four-door is pretty uncomfortable. Mostly because it doesn't tilt back at all and it feels like you are sitting straight-up when you sit in it. I was hoping that somebody came up with a way to make the back seat tilt a bit further back to make it more bearable for the back-seat passengers. Anyone?

Yes it can and has been done.

I've seen both the stock seat tilted back with washers.

I've also seen a pair of corbeau seats installed in the back of Missouri 4Wheelers Supply JK. (4ws.com)

As I see the MasterCraft banner above, you could also get seats from MasterCraft and this bracket.

So where can I find out how to do it? The "washer mod" that is. I'd like to see what I can do with the stock seats before I even think about buying new seats.

Thanks.

Doesn't that tilt the whole seat back? That doesn't help much with the angle of the seat does it?

It does help with the angle of the seat. You wouldn't think so at first, but upon looking at the way that the seat is bolted into the Jeep, you'll see that the seat back is independent of the seat bench. So you can tilt the seat-back quite a bit with or without angling the bench up (by placing washers under the front part of the rear seat-back bracket.) However, I suggest angling the seat bench up a little bit because it makes the seat a bit more comfortable. You don't feel like you are going to slide out of the seat whenever you sit in it.
