Recommend an all terrain stock tire..
the BFG a/t is a proven performer. Rides great, does good offroad (for A/T awesome), and lasts forever. If I was smart I would never run anything but them.
I do not reccomend the nitto terrible crapplers. I mean terra grapplers.

I was trying to find a set of BFG AT KO's last year but the inporter was all out. I ended up with Cooper STs, which are perfect for me. They also have an ATR tire, which is well made but in a more on-road pattern. Might be what you're after.
I've never seen them in that size. CHeck out this table though:
(replace XX with tt)
hXXp://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=BFGoodrich&model=All-Terrain+T%2FA+KO&tirePageLocQty=
They have one C rated that runs about 31.8" (a little smaller than the stock 32.06"), and one that runs 32.8" (D rated).
I love the BFG A/T KO, have a ton of miles on a set on my former TJ and they are still going strong, with a lot of tread left. They are also great on the snow and ice.
For the price, have you considered the stock Rubi tires (BFG M/T KM1s)? They really are fine on-road, are C rated, and about half the price of anything else decent you'll find. Only potential issue will be performance in hard pack snow and ice, but you could sipe them.

I had the BFG KO's on my YJ and Dakota and did not like them and would not recommend them. On the road they were bad in deep snow and wet pavement and were prone to hydroplaning. I am also running the Cooper Discoverer S/Ts and in my opinion they are a much better tire on the road and especially off-road. They come in 265/70/17 or 275/70/17 with a C rating that would fit your stock setup.
Why not? I've got stock tires, so this isn't a loaded question. Just curious.
Don't mean to sound insulting, but have you tried lowering your PSI?
I have only run my rig on the road since my DuraTracs were installed......they rock on the road. I dropped to a 15" wheel to get the C load....i didn't want E load on my stock 18" wheels.
Plus, they look BADASS!
I agree the duratracs are great! I was shocked at how quiet they are for how aggressive they look and they ride just as well as stock tires. My Roommate has the BFG KO and he said after seeing mine, his next tire is going to be the duratracs, depending on how long they last (I have less then 2000 mi).
There is no comparison between the BFG A/T KO and the Duratrac. The Duratrac is a better tire in virtually every aspect. I had 35" BFG on my 91 Suburban, and frankly they sucked. Harsh ride, so-so off road ( i know they are an a/t, but still expected more) and hydroplaned big time. I don't know about the mileage yet on the Duratrac, but so far it has been very impressive. I drove through a monsoon here in Houston yesterday afternoon, and the GYs performed wonderfully. This is just a good tire.
