X2 on the nitto's. They have alot of fans on this forum but my experience with them was horrible, especially if you wheel them on hard rock I had more chunking.

They have the BFG AT K/O in 255/70/17, would that fit ok?
The 255/70 will be an inch shorter.

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac's 265/70R17 are a load range C and will be 'bout a 1/2 inch wider, but the same diameter.

Look at 265/70's there are a bunch of choices in a "C".

I ran these on my old Isuzu Rodeo.......best damn A/T tires I've ever owned. Lasted 60k miles and stuck great to the pavement in all conditions. I never did any serious offroading with the Rodeo, but it saw more than its fair share of muddy trails and deep snow. I'll be putting a set of 285/75/16 REVO's on the JK once I wear out the stock rubber

EDIT: Also they are extremely quiet on the highway. I commute 120 miles per day and was thrilled with them from day one to the day I traded the Rodeo in on the JK

X2. The BFG A/T KO is available in this size, and should come out damn close to stock height (slightly wider). If you want a bit more height look at the 285/70's (which approach 33's).

I had great luck with the BFG A/T KO on my TJ, and if I went back to an A/T they would be at the top of my list.

Nitto mud grapplers. Great handling, just a little too much noise.

Seriously, though the terra grapplers are great for all terrain. Not sure why they have haters. ATs are for street tire with the look of an off roader.

255/75R17s and 265/70R17s are going to be nearly identical when mounted on the same size wheel. There should be a half inch difference in measured wheel width so in round numbers on the 265/70R17s on the same wheels will increase the diameter about a quarter inch and lose the same in section width.

Also, the BFG ATs come in the 265/70R17 size, load range C which will keep you very close to the same size and there aren't many who would argue the quality of the tires.

I am running Goodyear Duratrac's with load range "E".....they were very stiff until I aired them down.

Why don't you try airing down and see if that helps???

Awesome. I will check that out then. I just wanted to make sure it would fit my wheel and not change my scub radius or steering angle index. Also I am not lifted.

I am now between these..

.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=All-Terrain+T%2FA+KO&partnum=67R7ATAKORWLV2&vehicleSea rch=false&fromCompare1=yes

and these..

.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Wrangler+Dur aTrac&partnum=67QR7WDTOWL&vehicleSearch=false&from Compare1=yes

They are both load range C, but since I do most of my driving on road which will give a less harsh ride?

I was looking at the BFG K/O AT but it seems they do not come in that stock size?

Any alternatives?
I have the Goodyear Duratracs in 285/75/16. They ride nice on the highway and are very quiet. I haven't had a chance to try them off road yet but iv'e heard they do very well for A/T. I have attached a pic.
