recommendations?
I plan to switch from 35" all terrains to 37" super swamper IROK's in the spring. I am about to swamp my front D30 out for a Rubi D44. The D44 I have has 4.88 gears, factory e-locker, Ten chromo shafts, and CTM u-joints. I would like to beef up the
D44 before I do the swamp. Just easier to do the welding and all that way. I plan to go with ORE C gussets and LCA skids. I'd also like to do outter sleeves and a truss as well. I'm leaning toward the rock slide engeering outter sleeves. I don't want to do inner sleeves because if the e-locker ever fails I want to replace it with an ARB and that won't be possible if I have inner sleeves. I'll be stuck having to replace the factory e-locker with another factory locker. I am currently running a Rough Country4" lift (I only used the coils and shocks from that lift since I was adding adjustable track bars and all CA's at the same time) that only netted me about 3-3.5 with my bumpers and all that good stuff. I will be replacing the rough country shocks with teraflex ones and add bumpstops when I swap the front axle. I plan to replace the rough country coils with some 4" coils that will actually give me 4 inches over the winter as well. I'm leaning towards Currie 4" coils at the moment. I have chopped factory fenders. I have all adjustable CA's and both track bars are adjustable. I'm not worried about clearance issues with the 37's. I've read the threads on cutting down the rubi rails and pinch seem and that is all on the "to do" list as well. My questions are:
1) Anyone know of a better option for outter sleeves than the RSE ones?
2) Can anyone recommend a truss? I like the tntcustoms one...but it's out of my price range. I like the styling of the rock krawler truss but would like something that connects the long side and short side both to the center housing. Anyone know of a product like this that is available?
3) I am not using any type of track bar bracket re-inforcement or relocation. I think I would like to re-inforce the track bar mount on the front axle at least before I do the swap. With 4" of lift would re-inforcing the track bar axle mount be ok or should I look for a dual reinforcement/relocation bracket? I would prefer something that is weld on rather than bold on. Any recommendations?
4) Anything I am forgetting? Or anything else I should just go ahead and do before putting the D44 on?
5) Any recommendations on the rear axle? It is pretty much stock at the moment. I have the 4.88 gears and overhaul kit for it to match the front and will have that done once the front swamp in complete. I would like to do the EVO rock stars on it at some point and I should probably reinforce/relocate the track bar mount there as well. Any recommendations there? Chromo shafts will probably come for the rear at some point as well...I think I'll be good on stock shafts for the time being though. Anything I'm forgetting or over-looking?
